Levels Training

At PAWZ Enrich Center, we offer Levels Training, the most flexible group and private dog training classes available. This program provides unlimited training sessions, allowing you and your dog to learn new skills while reinforcing previous ones amidst increasing distractions. Join us to build a stronger bond with your pet and enhance their training journey at your own pace!

Levels Training introduces new skills to you and your dog while continuing to practice previous skills with more and more distractions.  Although each level has specific skill requirements which must be met prior to moving on to the next level, you progress through the levels at your own pace which makes it more fun for everyone.  The flexible structure enables you to attend more classes on your own schedule.

Like humans, dogs don’t all learn at the same pace. This format allows them to work on a behavior until they’re proficient at it…instead of being rushed through to the next thing. For dogs who catch on quickly, it keeps them from getting bored.

Classes are 8 weeks long.  All dogs start in Basic Manners and progress through the levels as fast as they learn each skill.  We use the same program for all dogs and challenge them more as they advance.  If you have done training elsewhere, your dog will move up fast and be able to go on to other fun lessons like Recall Games, Tricks, Agility, and more.

All classes are positive reinforcement, choice-based.  This method is a lot of fun and involves catching actions and behaviors that you like in your dog and marking them with rewards that your dog finds motivating.

Benefits of Levels Training over traditional classes:

  • Classes are ongoing so you can join as soon as there are openings.

  • Work at your own skill level for as long as necessary.

  • No falling behind since you move up at your own pace.

  • Dogs move in and out of each level throughout the training, which provides new dogs as distractions each week.

  • Students can take time off if they have a very busy week or go out of town.  Just return to class without fear of falling behind or missing classes.  Your 8 weeks of classes do not need to be in succession.

  • Have extra time in your schedule?  Attend more than one class a week if you are able to do so.

Level 1 will introduce the basic commands; sit, down, stationary attention, and the name game.  All dogs (even those with prior training) start in level 1.

Level 2 will work on walking politely on a loose leash without pulling, paying attention to the owner while walking and ignoring other dogs.  We'll also begin working on come, stay, and will include problem-solving information for other behaviors.

Level 3 will work on a long-distance come command, stay with distractions, loose-leash walking past distractions, and distance commands.

Level 4 is all about polishing the come command, strengthening the stay command, work on turns and automatic sit in heeling.
