Start Your Pup on the Right Paw

PAWZ Enrichment Center introduces Right Paw Social Hour, a weekly supervised puppy playtime and social hour at 2204 E. Broadway Ave., Bismarck, ND.

*Right Paw is on Sundays at 1:00 pm.  Each session is 45 minutes long, $5 per puppy.  Because of weather and number of dogs attending, please call or email to find out if the puppy socials will be held!

Right Paw is lots of fun, and it also provides a critical opportunity for puppies of all mixes, breeds, and sizes to get socialization during their “sensitive period” which is between 8 and 24 weeks of age. Socialization means introducing your puppy, in a safe and positive way, to possible sights and sounds that will be part of their world.

We invite you and your puppy to attend as many sessions as you would like until your pup reaches the age limit. Meet our staff, speak with our trainers, and check out our facility. At PAWZ, our mission is to help you with nurturing and enriching your dog’s life, and this is a great way to start your pup on the right paw through puppy socialization!

During this puppy program, your pup will:

• Enjoy off-leash age-appropriate play with vaccinated puppies of similar ages

• Be supervised by an experienced trainer to ensure all play is safe and appropriate

• Discuss basic puppy questions and learn about behavior, body language, and more

• Be introduced/exposed to new and interesting dogs, humans, toys, environments, and obstacles

• We utilize positive-reinforcement training and handling techniques, relying on a system of rewards to encourage good behavior.

• Establishes a strong foundation for a healthy, happy, and socially appropriate dog

Rules & Requirements:

• Puppies aged 8 to 24-30 weeks

• Minimum enrollment is 2 puppies from different families

• 24-hour preregistration is required, sign up on a weekly basis

• Proof of updated age-appropriate vaccines are required

• First round of vaccines must have been completed at least 7 days prior to first playtime

• If your dog has had coughing, sneezing, vomiting, or diarrhea within the past 48 hours, please do NOT attend Right Paw. This is to keep all puppies safe and healthy. Please seek advice from your veterinarian before resuming class

• Parents must always stay and supervise their puppy, children are welcome to attend if another parent supervises them, no running, yelling, climbing on dog equipment, etc. is allowed

• Bring a regular 4-6-foot flat leash (no retractable or flexi-leads) and a quick-release collar (a harness if desired.)

• Small soft treats/food

• Puppies will be interrupted from rough play and bullying

          

• We follow the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior’s position on puppy socialization and take care in making sure our Social Hour is a safe, sanitary environment. We use industry-specific cleaning and sanitation supplies tailored to address common illnesses dogs could carry.
